Week 01

Quick Tomato Sauce

Notes: To ease myself into weekly cooking, I decided to go with something simple to start out with. Simple and fast. Serves 4 (i.e. I have 3 Tupperware entree containers left of both pasta and sauce).

1. Trying to not buy in bulk for certain spices (i.e. basil) can be difficult.
2. 3 tablespoons of basil is a bit much.
3. Even though the sauce and the pasta finished around the same time, the sauce could have used a few more minutes to thicken up.
4. Continual wiping down of the stove top while cooking the sauce made for a simple clean-up procedure since nothing was allowed to set.
5. Going grocery shopping on Saturday (instead of Sunday, like I normally do) isn’t that bad.

New Equipment Needed: Small cutting board. I ended up using a small plate to mince my garlic for this recipe, which didn’t get the garlic quite small enough. Next time I’ll be ready.
